My question is, In order for my house to be run by solar energy [off grid] do I need to make a separate electrical panel and make new outlet connections through the whole house going to the new circuit box so that the inverter pushes the electricity from the solar panels that will be connected to it? Or can I just use the existing main electrical panel and unhooking the electricity coming to the box from the energy company? Your feedback will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Obama calls people wanting to drill more members of the flat earth society while solar power costs much more than coal and provides much less power. I realize we need to find good alternative sources of energy but are windmills and solar power really modern alternatives that he should be calling people old fashioned or behind the times? Maybe he is just throwing a heap of money on bad causes.
